Hi, my name is Larry Hillis of Little Rock, Arkansas, and I specialize in restoring RCA Victor 1950s vintage tube type record players. I work on the 45rpm players, and also the multi-speed high fidelity New Orthophonic players. Does your record player need a tuneup? I can service the changer, install a new cartridge/needle, restore the power amplifier, and I can also clean and detail the entire phonograph for you.
My prices are very reasonable and I restore these players as a hobby. I am retired and I have restored many RCA record players in the last two years. I work on any of the 45rpm automatic players with the RCA RP-190 changer (plastic tone arm). I do not work on the earlier RP-168 changers. I service any of the RCA multi-speed New Orthophonic players. I do not refinish cabinets or changer decks. I only service mono equipment (not stereo), made from 1950-1958. I only work on RCA Victor brand phonographs.
Services Include Any or All of the Following:
--Changer Restoration
--Amplifier Rebuilding
--Cartridge/Needle Replacement
--Thorough Cleaning and Detailing of Record Player
Email me with the model number of your player,
what is wrong with it, and I'll get back with you on
about what it will cost to fix it. You will be respon-
sible for insured shipping to me and back home to
you. I will accept Paypal for repair work done, including any needed replacement parts. Please email for an estimate before sending your record player. I will email you with my phone number if you'd like to discuss the restoration further by phone. Full payment for labor and parts will be required before your player can be returned to you. If full payment is not received by 90 days after completion of restoration, your player will be deemed abandoned and sold to recoup costs. Here are some of the restorations I've done over the last two years:

TWINS-- I found and restored two rare 1958 RCA Victor SHF-7s in July, 2010. Natural walnut model is on the left, mahogany on the right.
This like-new 3-HES-5 was RCA Victor's first New Orthophonic in 1953. It brought a record price on eBay.
RCA Victor made a lot of different 45rpm players in the 1950s, but none sound as good as the New Orthophonic 7-HF-45.
I found this 1958 RCA Victor SHF-4 console in northwest Arkansas. It has a huge amp, two 12 inch speakers, two tweeters, and nice AM-FM radio. It is quite a light show with interior lighting and front Nipper pilot light.
My first RCA Victor multi-speed New Orthophonic was this 7-HF-5 from 1957.
I restored this nice blonde 1958 RCA Victor SHF-8 for a customer in Texas. See her testimonial on the Restoration Process page.
